Sweet sayings

I have to tell you about how I woke this morning. It's Sunday, so we can typically sleep in til 7. So, I don't normally set the alarm as my body just doesn't let me sleep that late. Well, I guess today my body didn't hear it's internal alarm, and I was still asleep at 7:15 when I awoke to see my 4 year old standing just 3 inches from my face. So, that was the second unusual thing. For the past year or so, Seth has climbed into our bed sometime between midnight and 5 a.m., and normally, the Chief and I don't really notice him until we wake up or get a foot in our back. However, we have been working with Sethers to motivate him to stay in his own bed the whole night. We're not above bribing! But last night, in family prayer, we prayed that Seth would have the courage to stay in his bed the whole night. And he did! He was so proud of himself!

So, I grabbed him and pulled him up on the bed, and snuggled with him. The Chief was still asleep, but having looked at the clock, I knew we needed to get up and at 'em. So, I was tickling Sethy, and then he says, "You're the sweetest girl I ever met!" Oh, my heart just melted.

How can a mom not be more in love when her kiddo says these words? Oh, these sweet sayings now and then help me put up with all the not so fun in between. It sure is a wonderful way to start the Sabbath day!
